Trento Vision: a Linear Park as Urban Regeneration

Trento masterplan represents CREW's commitment to sustainable and innovative urban development. CREW designs urban and mobility strategies that integrate innovative design principles with the local context, creating resilient and accessible spaces.

The "Integrated Project" of the Municipality of Trento (2018) includes interventions in railway mobility, such as a new bypass for freight traffic, the expansion of the Nordus railway, and the undergrounding of the historic line for 2.5 km. The latter transforms the urban void left by the railway into a new central axis, capable of reconnecting the urban fabric, regenerating public spaces, and creating a new identity for the open spaces.

Vision 1 proposes a linear park that connects public services, green areas, and spaces for social interaction and sports, accompanied by new focal points such as student housing, office and commercial buildings, mobility infrastructure, and a sports area. Vision 2, "The Urban River," enhances the relationship with the Adige River, creating a park that integrates both public and private functions, such as an art garden and a youth hostel, culminating in a new waterfront view and reinforcing the connection between the city and nature.

The Trento masterplan embodies a design that combines innovation, sustainability, and urban regeneration, aiming to redefine the future of the city and the quality of life for its inhabitants.
